If you’re a lady in medical school, then American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) is one of the best organizations you can join. Not only do they pair you with wonderful mentors to help you navigate being a woman in the medical field, but the group also organizes awesome activities. This year AMWA has scheduled a book club, lunch talks on work-life balance, yoga nights, and visits to a crisis nursery! Additionally, annual events like the Vagina Monologues and the Red Dress Affair are put on by AMWA. Best of all, there are tons of opportunities for first-year students to plan and participate in all of these events.
